Ball mills and turbo crushers are two distinct machines widely used in various industries. Although they both are used in different stages in melamine and urea production, they still have some differences. Operational Principle - Ball Mills: A ball mill is a cylindrical device used in grinding or mixing materials, typically filled with grinding media such as steel balls. The material to be processed is placed into the rotating drum, and as the drum rotates, the grinding media crushes the material through impact and attrition forces. The resulting fine particles are obtained through the process of mechanical alloying or pulverization. - Turbo Crushers: Turbo crushers, also known as impact crushers or centrifugal crushers, utilize high-speed rotating impellers that propel the materials against stationary anvils or impact plates. The kinetic energy generated by the impellers transfers to the materials, resulting in their fragmentation through high-speed impact forces. Turbo crushers are particularly effective in reducing larger chunks or aggregates into smaller, more manageable sizes.   2. Particle Size Control - Ball Mills: Ball mills offer excellent control over particle size reduction. The size of the grinding media, the speed of rotation, and the duration of milling can be adjusted to achieve the desired fineness of the final product. This precise control allows for tailored particle size distributions and the ability to produce ultrafine powders. - Turbo Crushers: Turbo crushers are primarily focused on reducing materials to a specific size range rather than achieving precise particle size control. The speed and configuration of the impellers can be adjusted to determine the desired product size distribution within a certain range. The adjustable anvils or impact plates provide some control over particle size, but it is generally coarser than what can be achieved with ball mills. Today, Johnley Factory is sharing the development history of amino thermosetting plastics.  Amino-based thermosetting plastics, also known as amino resins, are a class of versatile synthetic materials widely used in industries such as automotive, construction, electrical, and consumer goods. This article aims to provide an overview of the development history of amino-based thermosetting plastics, tracing their origins, milestones, and current advancements. Through this exploration, we can gain a deeper understanding of their significance and impact on various applications. 1. Early Beginnings The development of amino-based thermosetting plastics can be traced back to the early 20th century. In 1907, an American chemist named Leo Hendrik Baekeland synthesized the first commercially successful thermosetting plastic, known as Bakelite. Although Bakelite was not an amino-based resin, it laid the foundation for the subsequent advancements in the field. Its success prompted further research into the synthesis of novel thermosetting materials with enhanced properties. 2. Formaldehyde-Urea Resins In the 1930s, further progress was made with the development of amino plastics using formaldehyde and urea as key components. The formaldehyde-urea resins were widely adopted due to their excellent mechanical strength, good electrical insulation properties, and resistance to heat and chemicals. During the processing of the synthetic resin, it is necessary to first age the reactants in the material box to obtain solid substances, and then crush and dry the cured material. Finally, it is milled into the required glazing powder.   The Glazing Powder Slicing Machine consists of a spindle support and a mainframe. The two ends of the spindle are connected to the spindle support and the mainframe through bearing seats respectively. The right end of the spindle is connected to the motor via belt drive. The motor is installed at the lower end of the mainframe. The left end of the spindle is fitted with a slicing disc, and an outlet hood is fitted outside the slicing disc. The lower part of the outlet hood has an opening. The upper part of the mainframe is connected to a material tray and a cylinder. The left end of the cylinder is connected to a pushing plate, which is wedged between the side baffles of the material tray. The left end of the material tray is connected to the outlet hood. Grinding Media The grinding media in a ball mill are typically steel balls of different diameters, loaded into the cylinder in specific proportions. The grinding media can also be made of steel bars, depending on the application.   Working Principle of Ball Mill 1. Depending on the particle size of the grinding material, the material is loaded into the cylinder through the hollow shaft at the feed end of the ball mill. 2. As the cylinder of the ball mill rotates, the grinding media adheres to the inner liner of the cylinder due to inertia, centrifugal force, and friction. 3. When the grinding media reaches a certain height while being carried by the rotating cylinder, they are ejected by their own gravity, acting like projectiles that crush the materials inside the cylinder. 4. The materials are uniformly fed into the first chamber of the mill through the hollow shaft, following a spiral path. 5. The chamber is equipped with stepped or corrugated liners, which are embedded with steel balls of various specifications. 6. The rotation of the cylinder generates centrifugal force, causing the steel balls to fall and exert significant impact and grinding effects on the materials. 7. After coarse grinding in the first chamber, the materials pass through a single-layer partition and enter the second chamber, where they undergo further grinding with smooth liners and steel balls. 8. The powdered materials are discharged through a discharge grate, indicating the completion of the grinding operation. As a critical equipment for material pulverization, ball mills play an essential role in various industries.
